Biography:
Alberto
Williams was an Argentine composer, teacher, conductor and pianist. He began
composing at an early age, as he was born into a family of musicians. In 1881,
he published his first work, the mazurka Ensueño de juventud. He
studied at the Paris conservatoire with Geroge Mathias and Cesar Franck. He was
an honorary member of the Argentine Association of Composers, the Chamber Music
Association and the Folklore Association. Alberto Williams wrote nine
symphonies, two concert overtures, three symphonic poems, chamber music, choral
works, songs, and over 300 compositions for piano.
